Sustainability
Sustainable development in processes and products
In terms of energy sustainability, in 2023 OMP installed 1,936 solar panels covering a total area of 3,516 m² — the entire roof surface of the OMP Plastic Division — with a total useful area of 8,000 m². This investment significantly increases the share of electricity sourced from renewables, generating 763 kWh of clean energy and saving approximately 425 tonnes of CO₂ per year. A tangible reduction in harmful emissions, contributing to the preservation of the environment.
Second Life Plastic
OMP Group promotes a responsible approach to manufacturing by integrating solutions made from recycled materials. This conscious choice helps reduce environmental impact and gives new life to resources, transforming them into high-quality, long-lasting products. To ensure transparency and traceability, OMP adopts the “Second Life Plastic” certification, which identifies two categories: PSV DA RACCOLTA DIFFERENZIATA, for products containing at least 70% post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR) from municipal waste collection, and PSV MIX ECO, for products containing at least 30% recycled material from PCR or PIR (post-industrial) sources.
Slight variations in colour or minor surface imperfections do not constitute defects but are characteristic of material sourced from recycling.
